In this land where legends of the divine has faded from sight,
only what remains is proof that something of celestial origin crafted
this world. Forgetting what true strength is, the people wage war with
their powerful companions by their side. What was once thought as a sacred
connection has morphed into a power meant for war. If the Gods return to this
world, what will they think of this? What will the people decide in the presence
of true power? Will you, a hero in this land, reach out to connect with the Gods
themselves as heroes of the past had? Will you wage war against the divine? Only you
can decide where you will try to guide this mysterious, wartorn world.

It was one that raged and engulfed the land of origin. It is the same war from long ago, but just told in a different light. Before there was the world filled with regions, there was the Pangea of Ransei. The great continents that were apart were joined together as one single place where Warlords would clash for supremacy and unity of the lands. The Pokemon at their side were companions, if not tools, to guide them on their path to conquest. This was the origin of what Pokemon Trainers and Pokemon Battles were, although it had long faded from memory and was simply printed in texts that left out the bits about blood and death.
Vague as these stories were, there was a spark that engulfed the world in an inferno of ceaseless conflict. The Kingdoms and their Warlords sought to meet the one of origin: Arceus. The Divine Pokemon that created the world would give favor to whomever stood among all seventeen of the Kingdoms. Endlessly, they fought, toiled, and there was one hero that stood above them all to not only meet Arceus. The Hero would face Arceus and claim his prize: a bond.
Oda Nobunga, Warlord of the Ryu Kingdom and commander of the Black Dragon, feared Arceus and wished to destroy it. Alas his paranoia was quelled along with his ambition when defeated by the hero. That was what many desired to believe, but that skepticism simply was passed on. Arceus, the Divine Creator, could not help but to contemplate its own fate if left to the creatures it created and the Pokemon that allied with them. Would humans and their Pokemon dare seek it again? Would they seek to end its life if it would show its face to the creatures?
Careful, Arceus could not take that chance.
Arceus would descend upon the world once again, but as a woman instead of a Pokemon, and would choose another name for itself. Using the power of its seventeen plates she carried and calling herself a “Messenger” of the Divine Pokemon, it would perform miracle after miracle upon each Kingdom. Each plate would be read by a vessel of her choice and within time...and others simply lost when her manipulative efforts were impeded. Through her plan that became folly, Kingdoms would be blessed with Demi Gods who performed miracles and curses alike! These figures, blessed by the powers of the Divine, would lead clans, integrate themselves into the Kingdoms, and finally be a part of their histories that would leave a legacy paved in more war, more conflict, and a hope to end it all!
Quietly, the Divine Creator would slip into the shadow of time and leave behind the world as it is now. Kingdoms were united by a sliver of hope in the form of a Holy Land and a prestigious academy that sat upon it. A monument built by the Kingdoms in order to quell their hunger for war. A symbol to placate their unease with one another as Warlords turned their aggression to crime and lawlessness that wished to break this unity! Still, the next generation of Warlords would come here to represent their Kingdoms as a portrayal of power under the pretense of fostering friendship.
War is inevitable, but even more promising is the mystery and the danger that lies beneath the true history of this world built by the divine.
A world of war and conflict with Pokemon awaits! Let us fight!
The Ransei Region is a Pangea Region that is the source of all regions in the current Pokemon World. In Canon, Ransei existed in the Sengoku Period and Warlords fought with full awareness of Legendary Pokemon and the creatures that were around the region. Arceus, a mythical Pokemon, is thought to be the God and Divine Pokemon that created Ransei as it was. In this version of the forum, those events have transpired, and post story, there have been several changes to the region and yet there are some things that have remained the same.
~Sengoku Period~
The Ransei Region takes place within the Sengoku Period era. Do to this, technology is at a minimum. There are still elaborate functions such as switches that run currents in certain areas through discharges used by Pokemon (Shiden Keep) just like in the original game and then there are cogs and metalwork in certain areas that allow for functionable devices (Fukutsu Fortress) that open doors or close them shut. Instead of trainers, we have Warlords in this era who act in service of rulers of Kingdoms with the exception of the capital.
~Technology~
Still, there is no application of electricity to create light bulbs or computer systems (There are Tesla Coils prototypes to circulate energy). However, that is the scope of technology. Due to this technology, Pokemon do not have Hold Items similar to the series, but they are able to hold berries. There are no phones or devices, so using Bird Pokemon as messengers is common practice for communicating long distances. Pokeballs are nonexistent and this, in-turn, limits the capacity for storing Pokemon that are partnered with Warlords.
~Landscape~
As a Pangea, the Ransei Region is one giant land with small breaks. If you have not noticed, it is shaped like the Mythical Pokemon Arceus itself. As it is canon to be the origin of the regions, it is divided into five areas: The Imperial Valley (Based on Kanto and Johto), The Fostering Coasts (Based on the Hoenn Region), The Holy Heartlands (Based on Sinnoh and Kalos Region), The Forbidden Plateau (Based on Galar's untamed Wild Areas), and Tranquil Highlands (Based on Unova and Alola's oceans). These lands are where our story takes place and is the division of our Ten Kingdoms and our Holy Land housing an Imperial Capital with an Academy and Monastery.
~The Nine Kingdoms & The Holy Capital~
The original Pokemon Conquest had a total of Seventeen Kingdoms with each representing a Pokemon Type. We added the eighteenth which is based on Fairy with original lore. Eighteen Kingdoms is too many, so we added lore that groups the Kingdoms into a total of nine with most of them acting as locations and battlegrounds with the capital being where a majority of our story takes place. Each of the Kingdoms have various cultures that affects roles in the story and are there for writers to take advantage of in order to flex their creative muscles.
~Clothing and Culture~
The culture of the Ransei Region on our site is of Feudalism in the style of Japan similar to the original Pokemon Conquest. As a result, the dress style of the individuals both civilian and soldiers would be of that style. There will be some dispositions depending on the location and their beliefs, but the elements will remain very much similar to aforementioned feudal Japan.
~War & Combat~
War is the center of Pokemon Conquest universe. However, war is conducted using Pokemon and not weapons and is carried out using tactics and the strength of the Pokemon along with their elements. For example, in the place of Gunpowder, certain Pokemon use the technique "Powder" in order to lay down explosive remnants of dust and light it with Fire-based attacks from a Fire-Type Pokemon. Bladed appendage Pokemon or Pokemon with claws use Sword arts and fighting-type Pokemon know martial arts. As this is a time of war, it is most common for Pokemon to deliver the finishing blow to the Warlord in order to end a skirmish as their Pokemon only act as a defense. It is implied when all Pokemon are defeated, it is the Warlord that will meet their inevitable end.
"The world changes but some things have stayed the same!"
With our spin on the region comes many elements that not only adds more flavor, but opportunity! We made this site with the goal to element as many of the Video Game aspects of the series and to make it story-based and encourage writing. However, that does not mean those elements of the Pokemon World are gone completely! They are just there in another form for you to explore and enjoy. Please take time to learn what our story has to offer in terms of the Pokemon World.
~The Regalia~
The source of this Pokemon World and all of its mystery! Regalia are pieces of the eighteen plates of Arceus in which it draws its power in order to cast Judgment upon the world! However, as Arceus had vanished after failing to carry out its plan, the plates, the massive pieces of power, had remained and been utilized by the Seventeen Clans. Famous clans of Ransei used these in order to reward individuals, barter with nobles, or even just plain fell into hands by mistake. These pieces of of stone, carved into accessories, are what are known as "Regalia" due to people believing that whoever possess one have the potential to rule!
The Regalia have several abilities: -
For one, you must have a Regalia to perform Secret Arts! These arts draw out the power of a Pokemon and have them utilize a unique attack that is taught by clan members. The Pokemon move and Warlord moves in harmony in order to perform these unique attacks. In modern times, these Secret Arts are known as "Z-Moves" and is very similar due to the light that exudes from the Regalia.
The Regalia is also able to help teach Pokemon and in part knowledge on them by reading Secret Records. These records are scrolls that have instruction on how to teach a certain technique to a Pokemon. Depending on the Regalia that is held by the trainer depends on the technique that can be read and taught. Without them, one cannot read the scrolls at all unless they became educated through the Academy. Regardless, the scrolls of Normal Techniques can be read by anyone with Regalia. Within modern times, these Secret Records are made into discs that are known as Technical Moves and Technical Records.
Finally, there is the core function of the Regalia: Linking! The user of the Regalia can link with a Pokemon more easily! By storying energy that is manifested through interactions and constant bonding with their Pokemon, this energy is exuded and aids in helping communicating feelings to another Pokemon. As a result, a link is formed, and that Pokemon befriends the Warlord. How much energy is expelled in that instant determines how close they will be. As Pokeballs do not exist, Linking is what is done to befriend jealous Pokemon rather than catching them.
There are other functions of the Regalia that will be revealed as the story goes on! However, due to a peaceful period passing for sometime, the Regalia have not been utilized to the point that they are needed in a crisis. But that can change any moment.
~Kingdoms and Encampments~
There are not exactly major towns within Ransei, but Kingdoms. Each one of them have rulers that are akin to what is known as Gym Leaders in the Pokemon World. They do not act in accordance with a league, but a monastery that unites them under a system to protect the region. Within our world, the nine Kingdoms serve the Holy Capital that have potential Warlords that will take over those Kingdoms, rule, and dedicate themselves to operating their parts of Ransei for the sake of survival. However, that does not mean they all share the same ideas, motives, or even lack hostility towards certain Kingdoms or the Monastery System itself.
Kingdoms and Encampments are composed of at most the following ranks:
Monarchs - The unopposed ruler of the Kingdom who has their title that usually is synonymous with their moniker. They have inherited their Kingdom for either being elected or possibly tyrannical with their ideas. Their personalities vary in respects to their Kingdom and especially how they view the Monastery System. Even so, there are three different political ideas with each of the nine monarchs allying themselves behind their respective belief in how the land of Ransei should be governed by.
Retainers - Often those in line to rule behind the ruler. If not within the Kingdom, they represent their Kingdom by enrolling in the Academy and harnessing their skills to gain experience. It is rare that a retainer stays within their Kingdom as they often desire to be a symbol at the Academy, and they often are under the age of twenty. These retainers often are known as Honor Students due to their heroism, skill, or even by inheritance.
Soldiers - The common soldier of a Kingdom. Samurai, Rangers, Shinobi, or even Mages! Depending on what Kingdom you hail from, one is more common than the other based on location. They make up a great division of a Kingdom's infantry, and unlike Retainers, they often lack their blessed Regalia to aid them in combat. There have been notable soldiers within Kingdoms that have acquired power even without Regalia.
Civilians - Just ordinary folk who inhabit a Kingdom. Whether they are not a soldier yet or a student, they live in this Pokemon World among this time of war and strife. They often live side by side with Pokemon doing nothing but daily chores and tasks. However, this does not keep them from having an important job! Blacksmiths who fasten armor or cooks are important in this feudal world.
~The Monastery System~
Also referred to as the Academy System, or the Unification System, is a system that is governed by Priests, Nuns, and an Archbishop for the seven Kingdom that is said to be descended from the Mythical Pokemon of Creation, Arceus. The Monastery System has said to have been the source of uniting all the Kingdoms after a period of war and distrust over several generations, although the stories are shrouded in mystery. Regardless, they follow a stern, biblical system where the Kingdoms serve the good of Ransei by putting down resistance and rogues who wish harm upon the citizens, the Capital and the nobles who are thought to be of royal blood to Demi Gods who served Arceus as well. As a result, there are a lot of conflicting ideas about whether the Monastery and the Capital is a heavenly need for the nine kingdoms or anarchy in disguise. It is a trivial fact to note that the Monastery is what would eventually be the shambles of what will become Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh Region.
~The Academy~
Upon the Monastery there is an Academy Ground that fosters nobles and retainers from Kingdoms that learn the art of war and combat. Through being taught by noble warlords from honored clans, Warlords learn to battle beside their Pokemon in a plethora of missions and tasks in the place of combat. These usually are combat situations that are to police their Kingdoms and the Capital grounds from rogues, stop rampaging Pokemon, or investigating unusual phenomenon. However, that does not mean that combat will be limited to simply jobs. Academy Students may find themselves at odds of a Kingdom and their ideas causing harm to the Capital's Monastery System itself.
The Academy is composed of multiple figures:
Clergy (Staff) - Priests, Nuns, and the Archbishop heavily populate the Monastery in the center of the Holy Lands. They may seem harmless, but they are very knowledgeable about the current Pokemon World and know the art of battle. Most of them act in the fashion of what a Pokemon Nurse would in the modern world, and are versed in the art of healing. Combat is not beyond them however as some have shown to be quite aggressive in their fighting if not their teaching methods.
Students - The Academy Students who answer to the Clergy of the Monastery and hail from many different parts of Ransei. Most of the students are nobles, warriors of mention from famous clan houses, unique individuals with skills, or even children who are brought up to be retainers. The Academy Students are encouraged to act together under faculty in order to carry out tasks in this Sengoku Period of the Pokemon World. For every two academy students, there is a senior that leads them as they commonly format the art of managing three Pokemon in battle at a time. Academy students are usually aged Fifteen through Nineteen, and progression through class ranks is usually based on skill rather than years.
The Curriculum
Hajime Academy teaches multiple lessons within the Academy. Some are more prevalent than the others due to the structure of the Pokemon World in the Sengoku Period. As Warlords and Pokemon all battle on the field simultaneously and follow no discipline, then the battlefield is chaotic often using strategy and the environment to their advantage. Thus, there are classes the prepare the students in becoming efficient warlords (but are also important factors in this Roleplay):
History - The history and religion of Ransei is often considered one in the same no matter how distorted it may be among the Kingdoms. The clergy are often the professors and teach students about the history of Regalia and how they came into the world. History also covers the Legendary and Mythical Pokemon that are perceived as the Gods while the story of the Divine Creator, Arceus, had blessed the world with the gift of Regalia to protect this world. Although this is the common belief, it is up to interpretation as the true story unveils throughout the course of events in the Academy.
Regalia - The Regalia are the fragments of Arceus plates that become spheres of elemental energy and light that can be harnessed by individuals with particularly strong wills and motivations. Whether good or evil, it does not matter the reason! Simply, the person has a desire to change the course of the world's direction one way or another. Almost anyone can be worthy of Regalia. The common belief is that those who have Regalia have the potential to rule as a Lord or Lady of a Kingdom one day. Regalia is important as they are the source of unique abilities that activate in the battle to support their Pokemon. It is advantageous due to Pokemon not having abilities in this world.
Tactics - Tactics are very important in the Kingdom of Ransei! As there is no league or official structure within the Pokemon World in the Sengoku Period, people wage war or go on crusades against one another. It is common that more than one Pokemon is used in battle in order to gain the advantage by combining techniques. Hajime Academy teaches the students to work together in groups of three in order to complete missions, wage war against rogues, and complete goals together.
Note: There can be more classes added for flavor and teaching. These three are important due to structure of the RP.
Missions
Hajime Academy's unity system at its core actually militarizes the students in the defense of Ransei as intended. These missions are carried out in groups of three usually by a professor and two students, but it is possible for three students do so by themselves if it is a minor mission. The more difficult mission, the more complex the team structure. The most common structure is one of the representative honor students leading two other students on a mission, but this can vary as well given the tasks. Hajime Academy teaches the students to use their Pokemon together whether it is managing more than one as a part of their army or working together with other students and their Pokemon to effectively handle situations.
Labor - No matter where you are in the Pokemon World, work always seems to be available! Labor is the least dangerous job in the Pokemon World and usually are done by students of the monastery who are low ranked and are still learning the basics of discipline and hard work. Kingdoms take advantage of the monastery system and utilize the students for building homes that may have been destroyed as the result of war, helping with minuscule tasks around a certain Kingdom, or even just being an extra hand and helping a Kingdom when forces are short. Either way, these jobs pose very little danger and offer a chance for students to see the pangea with their Pokemon aiding them in their labor to grow their bond.
Investigations -The Pokemon World, in whatever era, is always mysterious and full of unexplored phenomena. Students are sent on investigations (usually with someone more experienced) in order to gather information and study happenings. Sometimes, they are sent to simply monitor an ecosystem that at one point or another saw some difficulties. Examples: A horde of Zangoose and Seviper may have crossed into territory and constant fighting may have caused trouble or pollution may have caused Grimer and Muk to have appeared more rapidly in a certain area. You are allowed to be creative with these scenarios however you see fit! Pokemon and Warlord become stronger together by unraveling the mysteries of the world.
Campaigns - Are much more serious missions than usual ones! They may even involve death of Pokemon and an individual due to actual battle being involved. These missions usually are the use of students and professors who are more proficient and skilled in battle. Seldom are lesser experienced students are sent out on missions without a skilled warlord. These campaigns usually involve the arrest of rogues from Kingdoms they abandoned, the suppression of a powerful wild Pokemon, or even the defense of an area or Kingdom due to request. High probability of battle usually results in campaigns, especially if an investigation becomes chaotic! Pokemon and Warlord are awarded much more experience when battling together.
Note: Threads that are Missions should be marked with the tag [Mission] as they progress Pokemon growth much faster.
~Myths & Legends~
Unlike the modern Pokemon World, within Pokemon Conquest, mythical and legendary Pokemon were not rare. They were respected and their grounds revered by many rulers and individuals. There was the rare occurrence that the ideas of a person and a Pokemon of great prestige aligned and they would form a genuine bond. In those cases, that Pokemon would allow itself to be called upon in order to fight along side a Warlord. This was a sign to many that an individual had the potential to rule.
~Species~
Within this lore, there are Human and Pokemon as the most acknowledge species. However, through our lore, there is a third species called Yōkai. These individuals are thought to be born with disfigured traits due to the blood of one of the Demi Gods flowing through them. This is based on the notion that, within the past, Pokemon that took human form had settled into Kingdoms among humans. However, Arceus did not intend for certain Pokemon to find divinity that become human. Even if they are grouped in two different perspectives, they are one in the same, yet society does not view them in such a way due to their origin. However, they do seem to live life spans that are twice as long as regular humans. This is thought due to their regenerative and durable qualities being similar to the Pokemon species.
These are the two kinds of Yōkai within our world:
Blessed - take regal forms that are like familiar creatures and Pokemon that are known which usually are horns, blue eyes, or even appearances that are soothing. They are often thought of as holy spirits or individuals of nobility, even being common in clan houses and encampments. Blessed Yōkai are likely born of the creatures that Arceus given her plates to in order to take form.
Cursed - The second species, Cursed, are thought of as demons due to them being based off the accidental creations as a result of Arceus's actions: Malevolent eyes, nails like claws, or even fangs seem to be features of this humanoid species. The Cursed Yōkai are the lineage of those who came across Arecus plates, took form, and in their confusion either ravaged the land or hid among the people as an honored noble with supernatural abilities.
~Factions & Organizations~
Even in this World of war, it is not beyond certain people to form groups or factions. For example, the Hoenn Region's Dracnoid People exist within Ryu Kingdom and believe they can commune with the Legendary Dragon who circles the stratosphere. The Kaen Nation have an independent faction of Elite Samurai who police Ransei and fight formidable warriors as if they are bounty hunters. Not to mention that the Yasha Manor's shinobi are an organized set of ninja who take on jobs, regardless of the Monastery System, and spy on other Kingdoms for a price. There is potential to create factions as it is to delve into some that exist within this Pokemon World.
