Starting Your Quest
"Your journey starts off from somewhere!"
Pokemon are not farmed in a lab or raised for beginning trainers in Tearing Through Heaven. Just like the Warlords, the Pokemon have their own unique story. The individual may have met the Pokemon in the wild when young or they may have been together since fighting off a horde for territory. Maybe the Pokemon chose them or their clan bred the Pokemon that was destined to be with them. Whatever the case, the story is up to you, but there are still rules to the limit of the Pokemon's power.
Depending on your character's rank whether you claimed it or chosen to start at a certain rank, they are the following:
--------------
Rank & Points
--------------
Character Ranks & Link Levels
Rank B through Rank S are Rank Claims only, but you may choose ranks C through D. Sometimes, the character may be young and so they will probably be a civilian with a Pokemon at their side (in this case D-Rank) or they may be a simple soldier or academy student (C-Rank). Whatever you choose, we try not to limiting to how you build your character in telling their story. However, depending on these choices will determine the link points for your Pokemon that you are able to start with.
Each Point is the equivalent to a single Link Level. Remember that Link Levels do NOT bare any weight on the Pokemon and evolving. Evolution is actually considered more flavor in the Roleplay. The determining factor in strength will always be Tier base don the Link Level. Therefore, it is possible to have a fully evolved Charizard at Link Level 5 or a Pikachu at Link Level 100. It just all depends on how you would like to write that Pokemon and the Warlord. You may want to keep a Pokemon at a certain form and evolve them in story to make it impactful, or perhaps just to keep a reoccurring theme with your Pokemon.
Here are the rules to Link Levels
-----------------
Note: Please be sure to reference clans and Rare Pokemon listed in our appropriate directories.
Character Rank | Initial Points |
S-Rank | 90 |
A-Rank | 70 |
B-Rank | 50 |
C-Rank | 30 |
D-Rank | 15 |

- Depending on your Rank depends on the points you get to distribute. You are allowed to distribute the points in increments of 5. For example, if you are Rank C, you can have a single Pokemon at Link Lv. 30 or three Pokemon at Link Lv. 10. You may even have six Pokemon at Link Lv. 5 to create a whole team. However, be warned that in order to gain another Pokemon, you will have to get rid of one! There are NO Personal Computers in this RP and there will be events where certain Pokemon and opportunities appear.
- Depending on the Tier of the Pokemon after distributing the link points (Check Chart Here) moves you choose depends on the highest Tier of moves you can have for your Pokemon.
Tier | Techniques |
Tier 0 | Two |
Tier 1 | Four |
Tier 2 | Six |
Tier 3 | Eight |
Tier Max | Ten |
- There will be penalty costs for attempting to add certain Pokemon to your party. This is because those Pokemon are rare or have especial significance to certain clans. For example, if one attempted to add a Dratini to their party, the cost would be 10 extra points the usual amount (15 points in total). They would get the Pokemon at Lv. 5, but it will just cost the usual increments to level it up from the base (15 points to add it to your party and 5 points to level it up making the Dratini Level 10).
- There are perks to investing in lore and building up a character! If your character is from a Clan and you select a Pokemon that is symbol to a clan, that Pokemon costs 5 less points to add to your party. This also means you can add that Pokemon to your roster for free if there are no additional points needed (Example: For Rare Pokemon it will just be 10 points instead of 15). This is simply a reward for character building and contributing to the lore of the Roleplay.
- There are additional costs for adding Pokemon to your party that will have unusual traits. If you would like for your Pokemon to be Shiny, then that will cost 10 extra points as well. Example: If you wanted to add a shiny Marill to your party, the total cost would be 15 points to be there at Link Lv. 5. If you wanted a Shiny Dratini, a rare Pokemon, then you would have to pay a total of 25 points. However, being a part of a clan would help lessen the cost. So a Link Lv.5 Shiny Marill that has it as a symbol of the clan would be 10 points while a Shiny Dratini at Link Lv. 5 would be 20 points.
- If you are a student class character, Hajime Academy offers more to your character! Hajime Academy prepares Starter Pokemon to those who are still young in Pokemon Training. Therefore, if your character is a student, you can add anyone of the Starter Pokemon (From any generation with an inclusion of Eevee and Pikachu) for 5 points less as if they are discounted as Clan Signature Pokemon. However, the cost for special traits still apply such as being shiny.
That is all to it! Simple, right?
