The Clans of Ransei
The roots run deep from this fruitful tree.
In our Lore, Ransei is a Pangea Region where people and Pokemon alike are the origin of the modern world of Pokemon. Therefore, there are families that originated and blossomed into the many individuals known today within the Pokemon World. Over the several generations, these clans have moved and migrated to many different Kingdoms within the Ransei Region. Regardless, they still retain many different symbols of their clans, their “Secret Arts”, as well as them having certain traits that are prevalent among one another.SurnameClans have Surnames which are the family names of the clan. They are followed by the individual name of the individual usually. For whatever reason, there are times when those of a certain clan do not carry the name of their kin. This may be due to exile, illegitimate birth, or even them denying their own name. Regardless, these individuals still have the blood of their clan, can link with Pokemon of a certain Clan, and even their Regalia reflecting the insignia of their clan.RegaliaThe Regalia of the clan is often a certain Pokemon Type they have an affinity for. Because of this, when a clan has a Regalia that matches the Pokemon Type, it is often easier for that clan to Link with Pokemon of that type within the wild. For example, a clan that has an Ice Regalia will often find that they are able to commune with Pokemon of that type more than others. Clans with that particular Regalia expend less energy in Linking with Pokemon of that type.SymbolClan Symbols are depictions of art that are synonymous between members. They are usually displayed on the clothing or engraved in some sort of piece of armor. However unique the symbol is expressed on the person; it is obvious by the symbol on the body of the person that they are of that clan. This does not mean that it cannot be faked, but one would be careful to do such a thing as these symbols will usually identify that person with that clan whether they be with fame or infamy.TraitsClan members have traits that are identifiable and set them apart from more than just their insignias. Certain clan members may have physical traits like a hair color or décor that they have upon their body that identifies them. Their clothing may be of a certain design or flourish that is unlike any other clans. Some members may have different colored eyes or even comprised of dominantly Yokai species. This does not mean, however, that all members are like this. Some may not even express traits of their clan at all but have blood flowing through their veins.Secret ArtThe Secret Arts are what is known in modern Pokemon World as “Z-Moves.” However, unlike that present day, these arts do not require the pieces of stone and rock blessed from the Tapu, but rather uses the Regalia, the stones that shaped the Pokemon World and the light emitted from them. The seventeen original clans are able to convert their elemental techniques into their signature secret art as long as the Pokemon knows the elements of their art. On the other hand, other clans than the founding ones are able to turn one exclusive move into a Secret Art that is signature to their clan.Signature PokemonThe Clan will often have a Pokemon that is signature to their people! The Pokemon is usually the very symbol of their clan to the point that they believe it expresses everything about their history up to this point. Often, clan members show much respect to this Pokemon or someone who links with this Pokemon. The only limitation is, due to Ransei’s belief, this Pokemon is not Legendary (as respect is shown to all Mythical and Legendary Pokemon in Ransei). Regardless of the Pokemon’s evolutionary line, the reverence of that Pokemon remains the same and thus the clan members find it much easier to bond with the Pokemon of that species.Note: The ratio for Pokemon associated with a custom clan is limited 1 to 2 (1 Rare and 2 Common). If a profile using a custom clan has been approved, this cannot be edited in the future if your Clan is a Custom Clan. Pokemon Clans that are canon have no such ratio.HistoryClans usually have history tied to some part of Ransei. Good or bad, they have contributed and played a role in shaping the nation. Even if not aloud, they have appeared in the world, prospered, and become synonymous with certain traits of the Pokemon World. The seventeen major clans of Ransei and the Ten Kingdoms all have prestige associated with their Secret Arts and being founding members to have first held Regalia.
