Shībanī Clan
"We do not need the sky if we are free to swim!"
RegaliaTraitsShībanī is a name that has endured being dragged through the mud, but has suffered in the process. Proof of this is their original surname, Usagi, being disfigured to what it is now. Still, rather than deteriorate, the clan has leaned into their roles due to the history of ridicule and spite. They retain their reputation of being some of Ransei's best Pokemon Breeders that have come from the mysterious Mystic Kingdom. However, after their abduction, the clan had changed leaps and bounds in their dynamics. They are mostly noted to have a malevolent charm about them as they flirt with the underworld to maintain their status. Most of their time is spent caring for hatched Pokemon in their breeding grounds while also caring for orphaned or injured Pokemon found in the wild due to Ransei's many battles.
They physically do not have many traits that differ across from one to the next. They are noted to have fair snow white skin and colorful hair variants. Their eyes are traditionally blue which gives reputation to them being "Rabbits of the Sea." One of the most notable features is that they lean into this reputation by having hairstyles that are symmetrical, bounding their hair with a bandana tied to have the knot and grip to represent bunny ears, and their bodies usually adorned by silky kimonos in the Ofurisode-style. Notoriously, they are known to be consistent of weaving these clothes themselves due to their time in the woods and among Bug-Type Pokemon.
The clan has been known to be ferocious in a fight as they are motherly when loving others that they consider family. Their Pokemon reflect their obvious fickle nature as they stick to their species, but there is also the promise of how they utilize their Pokemon in everyday life. Their Lopunny and Cinderace are long time companions that fight by their side and protect their kind. Their Diggersby hollow out the mountains and hills making little pockets and burrows to make their homes. They do not live in homes by ordinary means due to their fear of history repeating itself and rely on few resources; even less to the standards of the Higi Woodlands.Secret ArtEnchanted Moondrop GaleThe principle of this technique involves the conjuring of Fairy-Type and Fairy Winds. Using the technique, the user completely controls Fairy Winds and creates a powerful gale of air that is conjured through consistent motions that is like the dancing. This is so much so that the sweeps and circular spins are like that of the phases of a moon and is even characterized with each distinct movement. Whether from a distance or getting into a close-range strike, the user aims to send this powerful, turbulent gale at the opponent in a decisive strike capable of blowing away the target.Signature PokemonHistoryBetween now and what seemed like an eternity among the generations, the Higi Woodlands were looked upon with curiosity. It had bred many different new Pokemon species with the new type. There were also many different tribes that had formed during the history across the woodlands. They all specialized in many different jobs in the newly formed Mystic Kingdom composed of traditional people who lived off the land. One of these clans, in the northern coast close to the oceans, were the Shībanī Clan.
The Shībanī Clan had one job unlike the other clans, and it was to raise healthy, bred newborn Pokemon. The clan had a history of knowing the perfect blend of berries, the herbs of the woods, and not to mention how to make use of what they had rather than rely on developing nations. Therefore, they were well endowed with healthy lifestyles and strong Pokemon because of them being raised from birth with the best that could be provided from their natural landscape and loving tribe of people. As they were apart of the Mystic Kingdom, they were favored by Fairy-Type Pokemon and had an affinity for them like other clans of the nation. However, they were symbolic with rabbit and bunny Pokemon whom they relied on.
The Shībanī lived close to the northern regions of what was not the Holy Heartlands near the coast. Due to this, they were vulnerable to the piracy a century ago. Rogue warlords of the fallen kingdom that was raided by the Frozen Kingdom had scavenged these lands in order to take what they could find. The Shibani, who were at the edge of the Higi Woodlands and close to the waters, were picked off and separated from the Kingdom's forces that repelled such rogues. Although the Kingdom had every intention of defending its people, they were overwhelmed by this fleet of pirates. The clan was torn asunder, splintered, and resulted in the few straggling to be enslaved to piracy.
Their survival methods are what have amassed a great amount of infamy. Many say that to survive, the clan members when enslaved on naval ships would offer their services in order to insist that there was value. Whether it was their breeding skills or something more personal, they were said to have a status less than human due to this time. Some leaned into the role more often than none, even helping pirates that enslaved them at times in schemes and cons. Overtime, their mentality had become twisted as much as their "survival skills."
The Shibani, although splintered, still live on in the Ransei Region. Piracy is more controlled due to the intervention of the Frozen Kingdom, and so the Shibani Clan were able to have their people freed from enslavement. Most either worked as common working class civilians in Kingdoms they took refuge in after their freedom, some became engrossed in the life of piracy themselves, and few walk the Holy Heartlands in collective family units or scattered amongst populations. Still, they live on with their affinity for taming their rabbit allies to fend for their families, living in ridiculed lives due to them being viewed as "house rabbits" due to their servitude and skill with resources being invaluable, or (rarely) they become Warlords themselves.
